Course Description

This is a foundational level course intended for professionals looking to become conversationally fluent in discussing cybersecurity initiatives and potential security risks. Topics covered include network security, password security, and common vectors of modern-day cybersecurity attacks.


This course provides participants with an overview of cybersecurity concepts to facilitate:
•    Communication of security risks and initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
•    Preparing reports on cybersecurity risk management programmes to help senior management/directors/investors gain clarity on organisational efforts
•    Understanding the potential security risks inside organisations
•    Recognising how data breaches may occur and how to protect data

Michael Gonsalves

Michael Gonsalves came to Singapore to join Tinkercademy in 2015 and has over 1000 hours of classroom time teaching programming and electronics to students aged 5 to 50 (maybe older, we didn't ask). He's developed curriculum for a variety of languages and tools, including blockchain, machine learning, robotics process automation, python, data science, cybersecurity, swift, unity, micro:bit, raspberry pi, and scratch. In addition to his teaching experience, Mike has data science experience as an actuarial analyst, computer science experience as a web consultant.
