Until the recent limit of nine year rule for a director to cease to be independent and the guidance for listed companies to have diversity which may take the form of having female directors in the composition, all males boards have been the indomitable norm.
The slow progress of women in board roles seems counterintuitive when you consider that there is a wealth of research about the benefits of having women board directors.
It may be timely to revisit this topic and have a frank and candid discussion on the reasons why traditional all males boards should consider inviting female directors and refresh the board composition.
